Colours of objects

Opaque Objects exhibit colour due to selective absorption and selective reflection.

Transparent Objects exhibit colour due to selective absorption and selective transmission.

White objects exhibit white light due to the fact that it reflects all colours equally.

A white object that is illuminated with red light will appear red because white object reflect red.

Black object appear black because they absorb all light and none is reflected.
